Wrap N’ Roll Kabob house

I’ve always been a fan of Indian food. But after I discovered this place, I found out that I didn’t know the real Indian food before.

Wrap N’ Roll Kabob house is a real Indian restaurant that brought to American the real authentic Indian cuisine.

Kabob house is located in Brea Union Plaza on imperial Hwy right of the 57.

If you haven’t tried Indian food before, it is your chance to try the authentic cuisine here. But if you tried Indian food before, you have to try the real Indian food here.

You have to know that Indian food is usually spicy. So if you can’t stand spicy food, maybe it is not the right place for you to go to. But in my opinion in order for you to know, you have to try it yourself.

There are certain dishes that you have to try if you go there.

The Indian Barbeque
It is a barbeque yes, but the spices that they put on it, is not like any other barbeque you have tried before.

CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA

it is boneless chicken that is cooked in Indian sauce that is made of tomato and buttercream. this dish is eaten with the indian bread that is unique and tasty.  this dish is a MUST.

BIRYANI

your choice of meat with rice that is cooked with bunch of spices that makes it taste awesome.
Hyderabadi Biryani

before you leave don't forget to try the Kulfi for dessert and the Mango Lassi for drink. you will leave with a new experience and you won't regret it.

Gendershe Cuisine (East African)

If you thought that Africans don’t have a unique cuisine, try Gendershe cuisine which is an East African restaurant (Somali).  Gendershe is located on Lincoln Ave. to the east of Magnolia Street. it is not that fancy place that you want to eat in, but the food is something else.

If you go to Gendershe, you have to expect 20-30 minutes waiting to get you food since they don’t precook the food. But I assure you it is worth it.

They have variety of Somali food. Some with rice and some with their unique Somali bread that they bake on the spot.
Somalis use goat meat a lot which taste different than beef

Also don't forget to hit up the Sambusa which is a Somali appetizer that made of fried or baked dough that is stuffed with meat.

Hatam Restaurant (persian food)

Hatam is a Persian place right off the 5 and Brookhurst st. by Chevron gas station. It is one of the best Persian restaurants in Orange County that is known for their gourmet Persian food.

Hatam is a perfect place to eat in since they have nice setting inside. They have another restaurant in Mission Viejo that has even better setting and is more fancy.

If you look at the menu you might think it is a little pricy, but in fact they serve a huge amount of food on each Entree. So I'm warning you from ordering an order by yourself unless you are planning to take the rest to go. No one will be able to finish a whole dish unless you are a beast.

When I go their I always get the Borani which is a hot appetizer made of eggplant that taste so good. And I always share an Entree with someone since it is a big dish.

MOLCASALSA

Molcasalsa is a great place to eat if you happen to be in Fullerton craving some real Mexican food for late night munchies and do not want to pay that much fot it.
  • Drive thru
  • open late
  • fast service
  • quick and convenient
Superfries - First timers MUST try this!  Carne Asada piled on top of skinny fries, with beans, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes and onions.

Carne Asada Burrito - Simple Carne Asada burrito with everything mentioned above minus the fries in a big tortillia.

Shrimp burrito - a bunch of shrimp with some type of tangy sauce.  Rice and some veggies.  If you like shrimp get this.  If you have to pick between the Carne Asada and the Shrimp burrito get the Shrimp burrito.

3 rolled tacos with guac and cheese -  For some strange reason the 3 rolled tacos taste like the greatest thing in the world when i'm drunk but just average when sober.  It's pretty much 3 long taquitos with a pile of guac and shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Umami Burger

This place has recently come to Orange County.  Before it was in the Los Angeles area but I'm so glad it's here so now I don't have to drive so far to eat a popular burger!

If you want to try some of the different burgers they have, I suggest you go with a friend and get 2 different burgers and split them in half!

This is not a cheap place. Let me tell you that now.  I spent $38 on 2 burgers and 2 appetizers.

Umami Burger:
this is their specialty.  The cracker in the burger makes it crunch and more appealing when chewing.  Also, this burger is kind of sweet but very good.

I also have to say that nothing is bad here.  I've also tried the Manly Burger, which is on the saltier side than the Umami Burger and it's also delicious.

One thing that was iffy to me was the "smushed potatoes."  It's quite popular there but it's basically a small potato, that's smushed, with a little bit of salt added to it.  There's also a mayo based sauce to dip the potatoes in.  It's $8 for this appetizer and I personally do not recommend it.

Anjin (Japanese BBQ)

the best place to go for KOBE beef!!  There is not ONE thing at Anjin that isn't good.  But what they are known for is their Kobe beef

Let me tell you now, this entree is going to lighten your wallet a bit.  A plate of this is about $20 for 7 slices of meat.  I've tried Kobe burgers at american places, and it does not compare to this at all!  This is one of THE BEST places for Kobe BBQ.

Other things you can try are the marbled rib eye, beef tongue, enoki mushrooms, salad (very good salad!!), bacon wrapped asparagus, etc.  The choices are endless! And with everything being good, you can't go wrong on anything you order.

Angotei (sushi)

Angotei is a sushi place for the more advanced sushi lovers who want to try raw fish.  If you feel a like living a little dangerously and trying raw things, this is a place for you!

you MUST try the:

sweet shrimp boat:
as you can see from the picture below, it consists of raw sweet shrimp (which is 10 times better than the regular shrimp), topped with fish eggs and raw quail egg.  It also spiced with a little bit of tabasco and some ponzu sauce.

albacore tataki:
this is a delicious salad like entree to share.  It has onions on the bottom, and raw albacore laid on top.  It also has some things added to it and all topped with ponzu sauce.  If you're not into albacore, you can also switch it around and try other fish; like MIXED tataki, or tuna & albacore, or just ask the chef what he would recommend!  You can't go wrong with any of the choices!

oyster shooter:
to end the night off, the oyster shooter is perfect!  I've tried oyster shooters at EVERY sushi place I've been to, and this one is the BEST!  In this shot glass are a raw oyster, fish eggs, raw quail egg, ponzu sauce, tabasco sauce, and a little bit of sake.  Its more fun to take a shot with a friend :)
